McKenzie Pickups is a mail depot pickup service company that operates at multiple parcel pickup locations in Ontario, Canada.
We specialize in ocean shipping/sea freight container shipping from your suppliers to our facilities. And we also offer long term storage needs done for you.
How does shipping services work?
- Rather than your supplier sending mail to your house, they can send it to our facility address. Most ocean companies won't ship directly to your house because that costs a lot. It's almost 5x cheaper to ship this way than air.
- This is especially good for bulky or heavy items like hot tubs, pools, outdoor equipment, fitness equipment, sporting goods, furniture, etc
- Your packages from import/customs brokerage firms are sent as bundles to our facilities, this saves everyone money since they don't get individually sent out.
- Container shipments are shared with hundreds of other importers, even those who are not using our services. This is called LTL (Less than truckload) shipping. On that 53 foot long container, maybe just 1 item that is a couch is your import! all the other items on the container belong to other people in Ontario. It's very difficult to lose a parcel sent this way like it is with air. An entire container is hard to lose.
- Most expenses with shipping to your house is hiring a company to pickup your package from the import warehouse and driving to your house. This can costs hundreds, even thousands of dollars for big or heavy shipments. With us, this cost is minimal.
- When your package has cleared customs and arrived, it gets transferred to the pickup facility nearest you for you to pickup.
- Pickups are fully appointment based.
- No time to pickup? No problem! Your item will be transferred to long-term storage for up to 3 months (6 months during COVID19.) at no extra costs to you. Unlike other companies that hold your mail for just 14 days!
